Who is Silvia? what is she?

Language: English

Who is Silvia? what is she?
That all our Swaines commend her?
Holy, faire, and wise is she.
The heavens such grace did lend her,
That she might admired be.

Is she kinde as she is faire?
For beauty lives with kindnesse:
Love doth to her eyes repaire,
To helpe him of his blindnesse:
And being help'd, inhabits there.

Then to Silvia, let us sing,
That Silvia is excelling;
She excels each mortall thing
Upon the dull earth dwelling.
To her let us Garlands bring.

Wie is Silvia? wat is zij?

Language: Dutch (Nederlands) after the English

Wie is Silvia? wat is zij?
De jong'lingschap omzwiert haar.
Heilig, schoon en wijs is zij;
Door 's Hemels gunst versiert haar.
Al wat roem geeft en waardij.

Even goed is zij als schoon;
Dit schenkt haar alvermogen;
Amor koos haar oog ter woon
En ziet nu door haar ogen,
Zit, niet blind meer, daar ten troon.

Zingt dus Silvia, roemt haar
macht en weêrgâlooze waarde,
't Liefste schoon, de rijkste
pracht, den roem der glansloze
aarde! Huldekransen haar gebracht!
