Nächtliche Scheu
Language: German (Deutsch)
Available translation(s): CAT ENG FRE
Zaghaft vom Gewölk ins Land
fließt des Lichtes Flut
aus des Mondes bleicher Hand,
dämpft mir alle Glut.
Ein verirrter Schimmer schwebt
durch den Wald zum Fluß,
und das dunkle Wasser bebt
unter seinem Kuß.
Hörst du, [Lieb]1? die Welle lallt:
küsse, küsse mich!
Und mit zaghafter Gewalt,
[Bleiche küss']2, ich dich.

Appréhension nocturne
Language: French (Français)  after the German (Deutsch)
Timidement, des nuages vers la terre
coule le flot de lumière
de la main pâle de la lune,
étouffant tout mon feu.
Une lueur perdue flotte
à travers la forêt jusqu'à la rivière,
et l'eau sombre tremble
sous son baiser.
Entends-tu, ô cœur ? La vague balbutie :
embrasse-moi, embrasse-moi !
Et avec une force timide,
jeune fille, je t'embrasse.
