Röselein, Röselein

Language: German (Deutsch)

Röselein, Röselein,
Müssen denn Dornen sein?
Schlief am schatt'gen Bächelein
Einst zu süssem Träumen ein,
Sah in goldner Sonne-Schein
Dornenlos ein Röselein,
Pflückt' es auch und küsst' es fein,
"Dornloses Röselein!"

Ich erwacht' und schaute drein:
"Hatt' ich's doch! wo mag es sein?"
Rings im weiten Sonnenschein
Standen nur Dornröselein!
Und das Bächlein lachte mein:
"Lass du nur dein Träumen sein!
Merk' dir's fein, merk' dir's fein,
Dornröslein müssen sein!"

Roosje klein, roosje klein

Language: Dutch (Nederlands) after the German (Deutsch)

Roosje klein, roosje klein,
Moeten er dorens zijn?
'k Sliep bij 't lommerbeekje in
Voor een heerlijk droombegin,
Zag in gouden zonneschijn
Zonder doorns een roosje klein,
Plukte 't ook en kuste 't fijn:
"Doornloze roosje mijn!"
Ik ontwaakt' en keek meteen:
" 'k Hád het toch! Waar is het heen?"
Zonverlicht en welgedaan
Zag ik slechts doornroosjes staan!
En het beekje lachte luid:
"Schei nu maar met dromen uit!
Weet voortaan, weet voortaan,
Doorns zijn er altijd aan."
