by Friedrich von Matthisson (1761 - 1831)

Stimme der Liebe
Language: German (Deutsch)
Abendgewölke schweben hell
Am bepurpurten Himmel;
Hesperus schaut, mit Liebesblik,
Durch den blühenden Lindenhain,
Und ihr schmelzendes Trauerlied
Zirpt im Kraute die Grille!

Freuden der Liebe harren dein!
Flüstern leise die Winde;
Freuden der Liebe harren dein!
Tönt die Kehle der Nachtigall,
Hoch vom Sternengewölb' herab
Schallt mir Stimme der Liebe!

Himmel! aus jenem Schattengang
Wandelt Maja die Fromme!
Heftet den Engelblik auf mich,
Fleugt dem seligen Jüngling zu!
Heil mir! daß du auch ihr getönt,
Süsse Stimme der Liebe!
