by Johann Friedrich Rochlitz (1769 - 1842)

Leiser, leiser, kleine Laute
Language: German (Deutsch)
Leiser, leiser, kleine Laute,
Flüstre, was ich dir vertraute,
Dort zu jenem Fenster hin;
Wie, auf Wellen sanfter Lüfte,
Mondenglanz und Blumendüfte,
Sende meine Lieder hin.

Neidisch sind des Nachbars Söhne,
Und im Fenster jener Schöne
Blinket noch ein einsam Licht.
Drum noch leiser, kleine Laute:
Dich vernehme die Vertraute,
Nachbar nur und Mutter nicht.
