by Ludwig Bechstein (1801 - 1860)

Fahrende Sänger
NOTE: the footnotes have been removed from this text; return to general view
Language: German (Deutsch)
Es zogen drei Studenten
Wohl über Berg und Thal,
Sie sangen von ihren Schönen,
Es klangen in hellen Tönen
Die Lieder überall.

Die Mädlein und die Knaben,
Die lauschten froh dem Klang,
Sie reichten den Sängern Sträußer,
Da scholl ganz leis' und leiser
Von fern her noch der Sang:

"Habt Dank, ihr Mägdlein und Knaben,
Und Glück in euer Haus!
Wir wandern, singen und lieben,
Draus ist uns schon getrieben
Ein Himmelsblüthenstraus!"
