Language: German (Deutsch)
Ich wusst' es nicht zu deuten,

als ich in deinem Auge
mein Auge sah.

Mir ist, ich bin gestorben,
begraben in dir,
mir ist, ich bin im Himmel,
und du bei mir.

It is not clear whether the poem was written by the author or was an unattributed quotation of someone else's work, as can be common with poems found embedded in novels.
