Die Nachtigal hat mich vom Schlaf...

Die Nachtigal hat mich vom Schlaf erweckt
   Mit ihrem süßen Gesange,
Wie hat ihr Schlag mich tief erschreckt,
Wie pocht mir das Herz so bange!

Wohl hat der Mai in dieser Nacht
   Geschüttelt die goldenen Schwingen,
Und alle Blumen sind erwacht,
   Und alle Quellen springen.

Allein das Weh, das mich erfaßt
   Weicht nimmermehr von hinnen,
Ach! daß du mich vergessen hast,
Das bringt mich noch von Sinnen.
