by Félix Rubén García Sarmiento (1867 - 1916), as Rubén Darío

A unos ojos
Language: Spanish (Español)
El sol con sus rayos rojos
ya no brilla, ya no arde;
que está dormida la tarde
y está dormida en tus ojos.

Al morir, con mil halagos,
te deja en ellos el día,
su vaga melancolía
y sus resplandores vagos;

y al tender la noche el velo
por las esferas oscuro,
te ruega que guardes puro,
el diáfano azul del cielo.

Por eso, hermosa, los tules
que en tus ojos hay presentes,
hijo vagos, hijo transparentes,
hijo soñolientos y azules.

Por eso con rayos rojos,
el sol ni brilla ni arde,
que está dormida la tarde,
y está dormida en tus ojos.
