Seliger Tod
Language: German (Deutsch)
Es steht ein Haus am Rheine,
Ein kleines Fischerhaus.
"Du allerliebste Meine,
Du Meine,
Schau nur einmal heraus!"

  Heraus will ich wohl schauen,
Auch treten vor die Thür,
Vorm Sturm kann mir nicht grauen,
Nicht grauen,
Bin ich, mein Lieb, bei dir!

  "Und mag Dir nimmer grauen.
So ist's die beste Zeit!
Und willst du ganz mir trauen,
Ja trauen,
Mein Schifflein steht bereit!"

  Sie springen in den Nachen,
Den Nachen treibt der Wind,
Ob alle Donner krachen,
Ja krachen,
Sie küssen sich so lind.

  Ein Blitzstrahl kommt gefahren,
Der trifft die Zwei zugleich.
Leb wohl, leb wohl zum klaren,
Zum klaren,
Zum klaren Himmelreich!

  Der Sturm der hat getrieben
Das Schiff hinab den Rhein,
Wohl mit den todten Lieben,
Den Lieben,
In's weite Meer hinein.

  Die Sonne schaut mit hellen
Und goldnen Blicken drein,
Wie auf den grünen Wellen,
Ja Wellen,
Treibet der Todtenschrein.
