Sehnsucht

Was mir das Herz bewegt?  --  Ich kann's nicht sagen; 
Ist's Freude oder Schmerz, ich weiß es nicht! 
Zu schwach nur bin ich, das Gefühl zu tragen  --  
Und doch zu stark, als daß es mich zerbricht; 
Die Heilung fänd' ich nur bei dir -- 
O weiltest du bei mir!  

Denn was Natur an Schönheit ausgebreitet, 
Das meinen Sinn so wonnevoll umfängt, 
Zur Sehnsucht nur der Reichthum mich geleitet  --  
Da ich allein es bin, der ihn empfängt. 
Ich möchte theilen ihn mit dir  --  
O weiltest du bei mir!
