by Gustav Falke (1853 - 1916)

Hinterm Deich
Language: German (Deutsch)
Hinterm Deich, weißt du, Schatz,
hinterm Deich den Sonnenplatz?
Überm Ginster, überm schwanken
Hafer hin das Spiel der blanken
Schmetterlinge. Jetzt ein Schrei:
eine Möwe flitzt vorbei.
Einmal auch, wie weit, weit her,
dumpfer Ruderschlag vom Meer.

Hinterm Deich, menschenfern,
kleine Nelken, Stern an Stern,
kleine rote Nelken standen,
die wir uns zu Sträußen banden,
große Kinder, ich und du,
lachten wir vergnügt dazu,
sahn dann wieder ernsthaft drein:
darf man denn so kindisch sein?

Confirmed with Gesammelte Dichtungen von Gustav Falke, Erster Band: Herddämmerglück, Hamburg und Berlin, Alfred Janssen, 1912, page 8.
