Frühlingsschlacht
Language: German (Deutsch)
[Der]1 Frühling hat sich aufgesteckt
Den Helmbusch, weiß und grün,
Mit Sonnengold die Brust gedeckt!
So steht er heldenkühn.

Trompeten jauchzen ihm voran,
Die Lerche schlägt Appell,
Es flattert lustig seine Fahn',
Das Bächlein, silberhell.

Ich selber bin erfüllt von Muth,
Und jauchze kampfgeschwellt,
Ich habe dumpf und trüb geruht,
Jetzt zieh' ich aus zu Feld.

Heraus, heraus, du arger Feind,
Du Gram, aus meiner Brust!
Der Vogel singt, die Sonne scheint,
Stirb' an der Frühlingslust!

Confirmed with Max Ring, Gedichte von Moritz Fränkel und Max Ring, Leipzig: Joh. Friedr. Hartknoch, 1839, page 132. Appears in Apokryphen, in Der moderner Odysseus.
