Der Liebende
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  DUT
Welch ein wunderbares Leben,
Ein Gemisch von Schmerz und Lust,
Welch ein nie gefühltes Beben
Waltet jetzt in meiner Brust!

Herz, mein Herz, was soll dies Pochen?
Deine Ruh' ist unterbrochen,
Sprich, was ist mit dir gescheh'n?
So hab' ich dich nie geseh'n!

Hat dich nicht die Götterblume
Mit dem Hauch der Lieb' entglüht,
Sie, die in dem Heiligtume
Reiner Unschuld auf geblüht?

Ja, die schöne Himmelsblüte
Mit dem Zauberblick voll Güte
Hält mit einem Band mich fest,
Das sich nicht zerreissen läßt!

Oft will ich die Teure fliehen;
Tränen zittern dann im Blick,
Und der Liebe Geister ziehen
Auf der Stelle mich zurück.

Denn ihr pocht mit heißen Schlägen
Ewig dieses Herz entgegen,
Aber ach, sie fühlt es nicht,
Was mein Herz im Auge spricht!

De verliefde
Language: Dutch (Nederlands)  after the German (Deutsch)
Wat een wonderbaarlijk leven,
Mengsel van verdriet en lust,
Welk een nooit ervaren beven
Breekt nu in mijn borst de rust!

Hart, mijn hart, waarom dit kloppen?
En je rust, wat deed hem stoppen?
Spreek, wat is met jou gebeurd?
Zoiets heb ‘k nog nooit bespeurd!

Heeft je niet de bloem der goden
Met een liefdeszucht ontgloeid?
Zij, die is in de pagode
Rein in onschuld opgebloeid?

Ja, de mooie hemelschoonheid
Met de toverblik vol goedheid
Houdt geboeid mij in een staat
Die zich niet verbreken laat!

Vaak wil ik mijn lief ontvluchten;
Tranen melden zich dan vlug,
En de liefdesgeesten zuchten
Naar de plaats mij weer terug.

Want voor haar, met hete slagen,
Klopt dit hart ten eeuw’gen dage,
Maar helaas, zij voelt niet echt
Wat mijn hart met ogen zegt!
