Entsagung
Language: German (Deutsch)
Mein Herz ist still und ruhig,
Still wie das tiefe Meer;
Verstummt die bleiche Lippe,
Das Auge thränenleer.

Nicht wird von Leid noch Freude
Die Seele mehr bewegt:
Mein Sehnen und mein Hoffen
Hab' ich in's Grab gelegt.

Ein einz'ger Wunsch nur lebet,
Klingt fort in tiefster Brust:
Nur einmal Dich zu sehen,
Du Quell der Qual und Lust!

In Deinem Aug' zu lesen,
Ob Dich der Gram verschont,
Der mir die Ruh' getödtet,
Der mir im Herzen wohnt.

Und würd' ich Glück und Freude
In Deinem Blicke sehn,
Dann wollt' ich ohne Klage
Still wieder von Dir gehn.
