by Julius Karl Reinhold Sturm (1816 - 1896)

Auf Gott
Language: German (Deutsch)
Lass fahren deine Sorgen,
du änderst nicht dein Loos,
das heut ist dein, das Morgen
trägt Gott in seinem Schoos.

Und wie er's wird gestalten,
ergründen kannst du's nicht;
doch glaubst du an sein Walten,
so gehst du auch im Licht.

Und was er dir mag senden,
du trägst es still und gern;
kommt est doch aus den Händen
des Besten aller Herrn.

Nie kann dein Morgen trübe,
dein Abend dunkel sein;
denn deines Gottes Liebe
gibt ihnen hellen Schein.

Confirmed with Fromme Lieder, Leipzig, F.A. Brockhaus, third edition, 1858, page 33.
