by Franz Alfred Muth (1839 - 1890)

Maienwald
Language: German (Deutsch)
In der Regennacht
Ist der Wald erwacht
Mit jungem Grün,
Mit Blumenblüh'n;
So licht, so sacht
Ist der Wald erwacht.

Das ist ein Duft
In sonn'ger Luft,
Es blitzt der Thau,
Es glänzt das Blau;
In lichter Pracht
Ist der Wald erwacht.

Wohin man lauscht,
Es klingt und rauscht
Und Blüthenschrift
Das Auge trifft;
Lies du ihr Wort
Und trag' es fort!

Den Maienschein
Laß in dich ein,
Und Duft und Thau
Und Himmelsblau,
Daß Gottes Pracht
In dir erwacht!
