by Ludwig Wilhelm Friedrich Seeger (1810 - 1864)

Die Wolke stehet schaurig stumm
Language: German (Deutsch)
Die Wolke stehet schaurig stumm,
   In brütend dumpfem Schweigen,
Wälzt finstre Mordgedanken um:
   Wie ihr die Haare steigen,

Wie sie ergrimmt die Fäuste ballt,
   Die Brauen niederdrüket [sic],
Wie durch die Adern Glut ihr wallt,
   Ihr über die Stirne züket! [sic]

Da schwingt sie die Lanze, und schleudert herein
   Aufs verhaßte Erdengewürme;
Rings stehn in höllischem Freudenschein
   Und lachen die Geister der Stürme.
