Mein Herz ist schwer beim Scheiden;
Es schimmert der Wald so golden und hehr,
Und der Fluß rauscht unter den Weiden.
Rausch' Wasser dahin, rausch' Wasser daher,
Wir müssen wandern, wir beiden!
In den Strom des Lebens und dann ins Meer  --
