Mädchenklage
Language: German (Deutsch)
Ach wie schön, du liebe Erde,
wirkest du dein Maienkleid,
dass doch alles Himmel werde,
schöner Himmel weit und breit.
Alles freut sich seiner Tagen
in dem blumenreichen Tal,
nur ich füll' die Luft mit Klagen
am vertrauten Wasserfall.

Singend schwebt auf gold'nen Lüften
hoch die Lerch' im Morgenstrahl,
einsam klagt aus dunklen Triften
so wie ich die Nachtigall.
Freude winkt die junge Rose,
die Viol' und der Jasmin,
nur ich arme Hoffnungslose
traure so mein Leben hin!

O die unnennbaren Triebe!
Armes Herz, was leidest du!
Lächle, scherze, liebe - liebe,
ruft mir jedes Blümchen zu.
Soll umsonst und öd' und trübe
dann ein armes Blümchen blüh'n?
Rette, rette, Gott der Liebe,
deine kleine Dulderin!
