Phylis an ihren Damis
Language: German (Deutsch)
Kaum erwäg’ ich recht mein Glücke,
Das mir deine Liebe gibt,
Freund so wird im Augenblicke
Mein entzücktes Herz betrübt.

Denn es wird die Stunde schlagen,
und wie schnell rückt sie heran!
Da ich nichts als mich beklagen,
und kein Mensch mich trösten kann.

Der Gedanke, daß wir scheiden
Mischt in meine Freude Gift,
Macht die Liebe mir zu Leiden,
Lähmt den Schmerz, auf den er trifft.

Damis, laß’ uns zeitlich trachten
Unsre Trennung auszustehn:
Lehre mich den Tod verachten,
Oder doch unschreckhaft sehn.
