Salut, ô gai printemps ! c'est la saison nouvelle,
Saison du gazon vert et des riantes fleurs.
Les champs vont se parer de leurs mille couleurs,
Et Ninon, chaque jour, me paraîtra plus belle.
Et j'entendrai, ravi, comme un chant un bruit d'aile
M'annonçant que les ris von succéder aux pleurs,
Car avec le soleil et ses douces chaleurs,
Je verrai revenir la frileuse hirondelle.
Alors, j'irai joyeux au pays des oublis
Cueillir jasmins, lilas, muguets, roses et lys
En murmurant tout bas une chanson légère ;
Je chanterai l'amour, le vin, le bon vieux temps ;
Et le soir, avec moi, dans le bois solitaire,
Les oiseaux et les fleurs chanteront le printemps !
