Chanson créole
Language: French (Français)
Choose for Diff
Avec amour chagrin commence,
Chacun vient me blâmer.
Dois-je voir fuir mon espérance ?
Ne dois-je plus aimer ?
Ainsi cette chère pensée
Que toujours caressait mon cœur
De devenir sa fiancée
Ne serait qu'un rêve trompeur.
Mais rien ne pourra me convaincre ;
On aura beau me dire Non !
Un amour vrai ne peut se vaincre ;
Mon cœur seul a raison.

Mais l'on prétend que sa tendresse
Ne peut durer longtemps ;
Que les amants pleins de jeunesse
Ne sont jamais constants.
Et lorsque l'ardeur est passée
De leur amour faux et menteur
La pauvre fille délaissée
N'a plus qu'à mourir de douleur !
Mon Pepito laissons les dire ;
Puisque tu m'as donné ta foi,
Si contre nous chacun conspire,
J'ai confiance en toi.
