Le chant du cygne

La poitrine en sang et l'aile traînante
Le cygne blessé qui ne peut guérir
S'arrache, dit-on à l'onde écumante
Et morne à l'écart s'en va pour mourir.

Alors, oh légende étrange et touchante,
A ce moment où son coeur va périr,
La voix se délie et ce muet chante:
Premier cri de vie et dernier soupir.

Tout chant immortel naît d'une souffrance
Et l'instant fatal c'est la délivrance,
Qui, nous dépouilliant, nous donne l'essor.

L'homme n'est vainqueur que lorsequ'il succombe,
Le réel berceau du coeur, c'est la tombe,
Notre vrai premier coup d'aile, la mort.
