Erfaßte mich ein wundersames Bangen: 
Denn ausgestreut, wie reiche Perlensaat,
Sah ich am Fenster tausend Tropfen hangen.

Die Leute sagen: 's ist der rauhe Wind,
Der hat mit Thau est nächtlich übergossen; 
Ich aber glaube, daß es Thränen sind,
Die ach, um mich und ach, um ihn geflossen!
