by Robert, comte de Montesquiou-Fezensac (1855 - 1921)

Les êtres noctambules
Language: French (Français)
        Va écouter le caquetage
que les oiseaux font sous les
        feuilles Tu seras ridicule à
        leurs yeux, odieuse et même
        laide. Tu ne les comprendras
pas; tu te feras chasser hon-
        teusement.
                              HELLO.

Les êtres noctambules
Font, ainsi que des bulles,
Crever pour eux les nuits
    Et les ennuis.

Devant eux vont, chassées,
Les heures enchâssées,
De ces mille Astartés
    Qui sont clartés.

Et ce sont les seuls êtres
Auxquels, par leurs fenêtres,
Ô Lune, tu souris,
    Chauve-souris !
