Moments qu’un infini de bonheur solennise,
Où je tins contre moi, pleurante et reconquise,
L’amie aux chers regards redevenus aimants !

Car ses yeux, qui mouillés et pleins de diamants 
Avaient gardé leurs pleurs, vaincus par la surprise 
Les laissaient s’écouler en une douce crise,
Et sa voix se mourait en lents sanglots calmants. 

Nous étions arrêtés auprès d’un ancien saule,
Dont le feuillage gris nous avait abrités,
Et sur son front pâli tombé sur mon épaule,

À travers ses cheveux épars et tourmentés. 
Ma lèvre encore tremblante où l’adieu frémissait 
Posa le long baiser qui nous réunissait.
