Das war ein recht abscheuliches Gesicht
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  DUT

      Gleicher Seelen
Gilt, so ichs weiß, kein Monopolium?

Confirmed with Morgenblatt für gebildete Stände, Vierzehnter Jahrgang, in Verlag der J. G. Cotta'schen Buchhandlung in Stuttgart und Tübingen, Januar 1820, page 92.

Note: Weber changes the punctuation, replacing n-dashes with commas and using an exclamation point at the end of stanza 2 and 3, and line 4:3. He also removes the final question-mark and uses a period.

1 Weber: "wo"

Dat moet ik je toch onverbloemd nu zeggen;

Mijn lieve liefje, weldra ben ‘k ’t zat!
