by Elisabeth Amalie Eugenie, Herzogin in Bayern (1837 - 1898)

Lass´ mich allein
Language: German (Deutsch)
Lass' mich allein, lass' mich allein,
Für mich ist's jetzt das Beste;
Das Ganze kann's doch nie mehr sein;
Zu wenig sind mir Reste.

Ich hab' dich wohl zu viel geliebt,
Hätt' dir's nicht zeigen sollen;
Nun hast du mich zu Tod betrübt,
Und doch will ich nicht grollen.

Du that'st mir immer schmeichelnd schön,
Stand dir ein Ziel vor Augen;
Doch das erreicht, dann konnt' ich geh'n,
Ich war nicht mehr zu brauchen.

Mach' mich ans Geh'n nun ernstlich dran.
Und kehr' ich jemals wieder? -
Wie bitter weh' du mir gethan,
Einst sagen's meine Lieder.
