by Elisabeth Amalie Eugenie, Herzogin in Bayern (1837 - 1898)

Leb' wohl, mein schöner Heimatsee
Language: German (Deutsch)
Leb' wohl, mein schöner Heimatsee,
Du, meiner Kindheit Wiege,
Begrenzt von stolzer Bergeshöh',
Im Schoss der Alpenzüge.

Umrahmt von tiefem Buchengrün,
Geschmückt mit Schilf und Rosen,
Die träumend auf den Wellen zieh'n,
Wo Seelibellen kosen.

Du, meiner Jugend Lust und Freud',
Mein Sehnen in der Fremde!
Mit schwerem Herzen ist es heut',
Dass ich mich von dir wende.

Leb' wohl mein See! In deinen Schoss
Werf ich die Heimat heute
Und ziehe rast- und heimatlos
Aufs neue in die Weite!
