by Elisabeth Amalie Eugenie, Herzogin in Bayern (1837 - 1898)

An mein Kind
Language: German (Deutsch)
Deine Thränen seh' ich fliessen,
Weiss, welch bittere es sind;
Denn, was dir das Herz zerrissen,
Schmerzt mich tiefer noch, mein Kind.

Sollst auch du, so jung an Jahren,
Schon zu deinem herben Leid
All die Schlechtigkeit erfahren,
Der uns unser Stand geweiht!

Suche keinen Trost von aussen,
Schliess dein Herz vor andern zu!
Hässlich wüten die da draussen
Und vergiften deine Ruh'.

Gerne wollten sie verspielen
Deines ganzen Lebens Glück;
Ihren Vorteil zu erzielen,
Scheuen sie vor nichts zurück.
