by Theodor Curti (1848 - 1914)

Abendlied
Language: German (Deutsch)
Es glänzt zur stillen Abendfeier
Des Mondes Pracht;
Die Berge deckt mit schwarzem Schleier
Die Nacht.

Kein Sang der Vögel mehr ertönet,
Es singt nur sacht
Die Nachtigall allein und stöhnet:
Gute Nacht!

Und 's Glöcklein von der Höhe klinget
Von Klausners Wacht,
Den letzten Gruß dem Tag es bringet:
Gute Nacht!

Confirmed with Theodor Curti, Blumensträusse, Würzburg: A. Stuber's Buchhandlung, 1868, page 56. Appears in Bunte Lieder.
