Wehmut
Language: German (Deutsch)
Meine Lyra, schmerzvoll klagend,
tönt zum hehren Sternenzelt,
und mein Auge, trüb' und zagend
blickt zur jungen Frühlingswelt!

Weiß nicht, was so sehr mich drücket,
was mit solchem Weh' mich füllt.
Alles, was mich einst entzücket,
sich in düst're Farben hüllt!

Meiner Lieben Wonnelächeln
und des Lenzes mildes Weh'n,
seiner Düfte, Lüfte Fächeln,
nichts macht mir mein Leid vergeh'n!

Einst entstrahlte meinen Blicken,
Freude, dein gesegnet Licht!
Deine Rosen, nimmer schmücken
sie mein blasses Angesicht.

Nicht in Worten könnt' ich sagen,
was mit solchem Weh' mich quält.
Nur dem Himmel kann ich's klagen,
der nichts wieder auserzählt!

Leise, meine Saiten, leise
haucht's in sanften Tönen aus,
nur in eurer zarten Weise
steigt's zu meines Vaters Haus!
