Wenn ich zwei gehen seh', in Lieb' gesellt, 
So innig Hand in Hand, den Blick erhellt, 
Denk' ich der gold'nen Zeit, 
Wo aus mein Weh', mein Leid, 
Und ich bei dir.  

Nicht will ich traurig sein:  sei Glück mein Traum, 
Stets glänzt im Blütenschmuck der Hoffnungsbaum.  
Manch' Blatt und Blütenduft  
Ziehn grüssend durch die Luft 
So gern zu dir.    

Und darf ich heimwärts ziehn in kurzer Zeit, 
Schau' ich ins Auge dir, die mir geweiht!
