by Ferdinand Weibert (1841 - 1926), as Rheinfels

Gut' Nacht
Language: German (Deutsch)
Nun kommt der letzte Abendschein
Herab zu uns in's Thal,
Die Berge hüllt er golden ein,
Nun soll auch Dir Dein Abend sein,
Leg Dich zur Ruh,
Gott schützet Dich mit seiner Macht,
Schlummre in sanftem Frieden Du!
Gut Nacht!

So purpurroth die Wolke dort,
So dämmerig die Welt!
Die Schatten weben fort und fort,
Nun lasse ruhen That und Wort,
Leg Dich zur Ruh,
Gott schützet Dich mit seiner Macht,
Schlummre in sanftem Frieden Du!
Gut Nacht!

So, falte betend nun die Hand,
Der Schlummer wieg Dich ein,
In liebe Unschuld eingebannt
Sei Dir der schönste Traum gesandt,
Leg Dich zur Ruh,
Gott schützet Dich mit seiner Macht,
Schlummre in sanftem Frieden Du!
Gut Nacht!
