Die Stunde ruft zum Scheiden
Language: German (Deutsch)
Die Stunde ruft zum Scheiden,
bald muss ich weiter zieh'n;
ich soll die Teu're meiden
und jede Freude flieh'n.
Doch klage ich nicht mehr,
wird auch der Abschied schwer,
denn leichter wird der Schmerz,
bleibt mir nur treu ihr Herz.

Es sprechen ihre Blicke:
„O bleibe doch zurück!
Du kennst des Schicksals Tücke,
schnell fliehet oft das Glück!“
Es ruft ja meine Pflicht,
und bleiben kann ich nicht.
So stille deinen Schmerz,
es bleibt dir ja mein Herz!

Dort kalte Wogen brausen,
hier wallt die warme Brust,
dort wilde Stürme sausen,
hier wohnet stille Lust.
O namenloses Glück,
dich lass' ich hier zurück,
doch stiller wird der Schmerz,
bleibt treu mir nur dein Herz!
