by Johannes Theodor Kuhlemann (1891 - 1939)

Demut faltet den Raum. Wir müssen
Language: German (Deutsch)
Demut faltet den Raum. Wir müssen
sterben. Aus nächtlichen Spiegeln
zittert Unruh. O Woge
des Monds! Es ruft
über den Fluß. Und hoher,
aller Tage gekrönter Stern
ist unterwegs, hebt
hinter der Wand der Meere sich auf.

Ich kann den Tod nicht, wie
den Abend lieben. Am Ende
steht der Engel: mitten
unter dem Tor. Ihm bergen
lauschendes Haupt die Völker. Auch mir
rauscht am Boden das Gras. Die Pfade
enden im schaurigen Herzen mir.
