by Birger Mörner (1867 - 1930)

Balladen om Fru Slöje
Language: Swedish (Svenska)
Det var fru Ingrid Slöje,
hon var så ljus som äppelblom;
två tunga flätors rikedom
hon bar, fru Ingrid Slöje.

Det var ung guldsmed Slöje,
som fisk i vattnet glad han var,
på senig arm så stark han bar
sitt viv, fru Ingrid Slöje.

Herr Magnus Ingrid Slöje
igår vid brunnens vatten såg;
strax vände sig Herr Magni håg
till fagra Ingrid Slöje.

Nu gråter Ingrid Slöje,
se'n kungens dolk nått smedens barm.
I natt hon sov på kungens arm,
den ljusa Ingrid Slöje.
