Valsen med sorgens kavaljer
Language: Swedish (Svenska)
Mitt hjärta drömt om att bjuda
timmarna upp till dans
vid gigornas spel och skruda
alltet i festers glans.

Det valsas, valsas i dagar
och glädjen muntert ler
på långdans i skog och i hagar
mot sorgens kavaljer.

De svinga sig sirligt båda
runt i en evig ring,
som dansade de av våda
ibland förbytta ting.

Bland sol och måne och stjärnor,
som aldrig stilla stå,
en virvlande lek för hjärnor
av gnistor i det blå.

En virvellek för mitt hjärta
och sorgens kavaljer;
vi sväva bort, där bland bjärta
kvällsmoln man solen ser.
