Fröhliches Begräbnis
Language: German (Deutsch)
Grabgeläut',
schwere Zeit.
Wer wird denn begraben?
Feiersang
trüb und bang',
wen will der Tod denn haben?
Ist's der Greis in Silberlocken,
müd' der ird'schen Pein?
O nein!
Ist's die Gattin, die dem Manne
muss verloren sein?
O nein!
Ist's das Kindlein gar, das junge,
schuldlos, zart und rein?
O nein!
Saget uns schlicht,
kündet uns an,
sind die es nicht,
wer ist es dann?
'S ist der Kummer, 's sind die Sorgen,
die lasst uns jetzt begraben!
Fröhlich Heut' und fröhlich Morgen
wollen wir nun haben!
All das Sehnen,
all die Tränen,
all das Bangen,
all Verlangen
senkt auf ewig nun hinab
ins tiefe, dunkle Grab!
