dein liebes Bild geküsst,
da war's, als ob der Mund gelacht,
das Haupt mich froh begrüßt.

Dein Auge schien in warmem Glanz
lebendig aufzugeh'n;
du standest vor mir, selbst und ganz:
Ein Wunder war gescheh'n!

Doch als ich heiß und unbedacht
dich noch einmal geküsst,
da war's, als ob du nicht gelacht,
als ob ich weinen müsst'.
