Sehnsucht
Language: German (Deutsch)
Zeit meiner Kindheit,
Land süßer Träume,
ach, wie so [fern]1 schon,
ach, wie so weit!
Glückliche Jahre,
ihr seid entschwunden;
nur die Erinn'rung
blieb mir von euch.

Als ich noch lächelnd
spielte im Sande,
als noch die [Wiese]2
ganz meine Welt,
ich noch nicht wusste,
was [hinter]3 den Bergen,
da war ich glücklich,
da war ich reich!

Sonnige Hügel,
ihr seid entschwunden!
Glückliche Heimat,
[ach]4, wie so weit!
Still und mit Sehnsucht
denk' ich hinüber;
kehrtest du wieder,
kindlicher Traum!
