Beim Glühwein zu singen
Language: German (Deutsch)
Es schäumt und wogt in süßer Lust
des Geistes heil'ge Glut;
hell wird das Auge, leicht die Brust,
und schneller pocht das Blut.

O Kampfes Glut, o Blitzes Strahl
in meines Gottes Hand,
durchzuck' uns fröhlich, ruft einmal
in Not das Vaterland!

O Liebesglut, o Sonnenquell,
vom Lebenshauch durchglüht,
durchström' uns stets recht warm und hell
das innerste Gemüt!

O Freundschaftsglut, dem Monde gleich
am tiefen Himmelsgrund,
mach' immer uns so voll und reich
wie jetzt zu guter Stund'.

Und wenn dereinst der kräft'ge Mut
und Herz und Auge bricht,
verklär' dich dann, du heil'ge Glut,
zum Hoffnungsmorgenlicht!
