by Joseph Samuel Tauber (1822 - 1879)

Liederbote
Language: German (Deutsch)
Ich hab' es nicht der Nacht geklagt,
dass du nie wirst mein eigen;
die Nacht entschlummert, wenn es tagt,
und Mond und [Sterne]1 schweigen.

Vicht Vöglein klagt' ich meinen Schmerz,
nicht [Rosen]2, frisch und helle;
die Vöglein ziehen südenwärts,
und [Rosen]2 welken schnelle.

Ich klagt' es nur dem Lied, dem Klang,
die sagen dir es wieder;
[ja, ewig, ewig lebt Gesang]3,
und [immer]4 dauern Lieder.
