Dämmerzauber
Language: German (Deutsch)
Ich trieb mit meinem Boote
über den See allein,
das Wasser wie Flammen lohte
im sterbenden Dämmerschein.

Die Küsten versanken im Dunkel,
die eben noch leuchteten hell,
und zitternd verglomm das Gefunkel
der Lichter von Radolfzell.

Wie seliger Träume Weben
umgab es mich nah' und fern,
und über den Wassern schweben
fühlt' ich den Geist des Herrn.

Note provided by Johann Winkler: Radolfzell is a small town on the German banks of the Bodensee, a considerably large lake a part of which belongs to Austria, Switzerland and Germany each. The English call it Lake Constance.
