by Cyprien Alphonse Halgan (1838 - 1896)

Le feu s’est éteint, je frissonne
Language: French (Français)
Le feu s’est éteint, je frissonne ;
Une heure tout au loin qui sonne
Épuise son chant cristallin ;
Il pleut au dehors et j’écoute
Ce bruit léger qui, goutte à goutte,
Semble un grelot triste et câlin.

Chansons de l’heure et de la pluie ;
Sentez-vous combien je m’ennuie
De n’avoir plus le cœur bercé ;
Et d’être là dans cette chambre
Où flotte un peu du parfum d’ambre,
Du chaud parfum qu’il a laissé.
