Så langt jeg kan mindes
Language: Danish (Dansk)
Our translations:  GER
Så langt jeg kan mindes,
Drømte jeg om dig,
Alle mine barndoms tanker
Fløj altid samme vej,
Bragte jeg hjem et blomster
Af sælsomt farvespil,
Og spurgte jeg min moder:
Er vel noget skønnere til?
Da svared hun, det svar gik
mig aldrig af minde:
Ingen uden hende,-
Den dejlige, dejlige Tornerose.

Så tit jeg i dystløb
Sværd og lanse svang
Og smil og håndklap hilste mig
Fra skrankens silkehang,
Da lysten mig at leve
Skønt kækt jeg turde dø,
Og jeg spurgte min fader:
Har Velskland skønnere mø?
Da svared ha, det svar gik
mig aldrig af minde
Ingen uden hende,-
Den dejlige, dejlige Tornerose.
