Pfingstlied
Language: German (Deutsch)
Geist des Lebens, heil'ge Gabe,
du, der Seelen Licht und Trost,
Erntesegen, aus dem Grabe
unser's Bürgen aufgesprosst!
Sieh, du kommst nach seinen Leiden,
Geist der Kindschaft, Geist der Freuden!
Was er blutend uns erstritt,
alles, alles bringst du mit!

Was kein Mensch, kein Manneswille,
keine Kraft der Welt vermag,
wirkst du mühelos und stille,
Geist des Herrn, am Gnadentag.
Selig, wer von dir geleitet
sich auf Christi Tag bereitet,
wer dich, wenn sein Stündlein schlägt,
unbetrübt im Herzen trägt.

O du Pfand des großen Bundes,
Geist des Vaters, mild und rein,
heil'ger Odem seines Mundes,
zeuch in uns're Herzen ein!
Lehre uns, der Welt entrinnen,
halt' in Jesu Herz und Sinnen,
zeig' uns hier im Glauben ihn,
stell' uns dort zum Schauen hin!
