Schön ist's, wenn gold'ne Halme das reiche Haupt
zur Mutter Erde neigen; doch schöner ist's,
wenn lose Lüfte meines Mädchens
goldene Locken umspielend kräuseln.

Schön ist's, wenn rings die Auen der Sonne Strahl
aus blauem Himmel segnet, doch schöner ist's,
wenn mir aus ihren blauen Augen
freundlich die Sterne der Liebe blinken.

Schön ist's, die ersten Knospen im Frühlingshain
vom Rosenbusche brechen; doch schöner ist's,
von ihren keuschen Rosenlippen
zitternd das Ja der Erhörung küssen.
