Lindenzeit

So lang' hab' ich gewartet und geträumt
mit Ungeduld und sehnendem Verlangen!
Der Winter war wie eine Ewigkeit,
bis endlich, über Nacht, in schlichtem Kleid
aus Morgengold die Linden aufgegangen.

Nun blüht mein Sommer! Wieder seh' ich zieh'n
voll Honigseim die lieben, kleinen Bienen
mit tiefem Summen zitternd durchs Geäst
hoch in die Wipfel, wo, ein stummes Fest,
zum Himmel auf die lichten Zweige grünen!

Und Tage, Nächte lieg' ich unterm Baum,
mein einzig Tun ein selig Augenschließen,
und trink' das Blau der wonnevollen Zeit,
bis mir die Stunden in Vergessenheit
zu leuchtender Unendlichkeit zerfließen.
